About Slate Audio NW

Slate Audio NW is owned and operated by Jared Smith, who has spent the last 20 years working in various departments in the film industry. Starting as a PA, he was mentored and worked his way into the grip and electric department, where he spent 15 years contributing his skills and professionalism to the grip world. With recording audio as a strong hobby and passion of his, he decided to transition into the sound department where he built up his own kit and is now a full time Sound Tech. Since 2019, Jared has worked regularly as a field mixer on various ENG, DOC, and narrative sets. Through his passion, dedication, and professionalism, he is able to deliver quality and professional sound in the field. 

Jared works with Sound Devices 664 mixer/recorder, as well as Senheiser and Lectro microphones. He has a full ENG/DOC kit that includes 10 channels of Lecrto wireless and a full comtek system. Please reach out directly for rates, scheduling, and references.
